Valerie Mayhew

Biography

Valerie is a young, jack-of-all-tradeswoman living in the Heartlands of New Hanover. She currently earns her living by taming and selling horses and is a renowned huntress who deals game with the townsfolk of Valentine.

Valerie currently resides at Hunter’s Solace, a small cabin hidden along the woods just North of Horseshoe Overlook. Accompanying her is her is Sunny, a loyal and protective Saint Bernard. The brunette often keeps at least 5 to 7 horses in her care, including Isra, her main mount and Aro, her draft horse.

Val enjoys the serene surroundings of her home, and enjoys the quiet life she has lived; but she craves something else...

Appearance and Personality

Valerie is a young and beautiful woman of 25 years. She is of average height for an American woman, being 5ft5 with a slender build. The femme has deep green eyes, a light tan complexion to her skin, and long ebon hair that rests just below her chest. The woman will usually keep her hair down or in a low bun when hunting; and can usually be seen wearing black working jeans, a beige long-sleeved cotton shirt, black boots, and her black coat.

Valerie is a rather reserved; albeit curious woman with a calm disposition. The huntress is kind and gentle to those close to her, but relatively a serious and quiet person. She tends to be quick to irritate, and is deadly when provoked. She has an iron will and is not so easily frightened. Valerie is a woman who can hold her own and is not afraid to get her hands dirty.

Abilities and Relationships

ABILITIES:

Marksmanship: Val is a skilled huntress and tracker; as deadly with a bow and arrow as she is with a gun. She prefers to attack from the shadows when she can. Valerie’s attacks are all carefully calculated; and treats every opponent as just another hunt. Quick, precise, and quiet.

Everything she knows was taught to her at a very tender age by her deceased father.

Melee: Although she may look quiet and gentle, Valerie is a strong fighter. She relies heavily on her speed and defense rather than offense when fighting opponents

RELATIONSHIPS:

Overall Van der linde gang: She was rather curious about the folks who set up on the overlook when they first arrived and decided to visit; Val offered a freshly hunted deer and a basket of apples and peaches from her trees as a token of good will. She will often visit to deliver them apple pies and peach pies.

Arthur Morgan: Val had an encounter with Arthur when they had recently set up camp on the overlook. While hunting, Arthur stumbled upon two O’Driscolls near a cabin getting ready to raid it and steal Val’s horses. Valerie quickly took care of the thieves while Arthur chased down two of her spooked horses. She thanked him later on with a few drinks at the Valentine Saloon.
